The Schwa Show is a National Juried competition recognizing excellence in fine arts and crafts

This exhibition is open to artists in any media and subject matter. Artists must be age 18 or up. All work must have been completed in the past 3 years and never previously exhibited at emerge. All pieces must fit through a standard sized door. Work must be available for entire exhibition. Video entries are accepted, but special equipment must be provided. Work must be "ready to hang" or will not be eligible.

Entries & Fees
Each artist may submit up to 5 entries. The entry fee is $20 for three entries and $5 for each additional entry with a limit of five entries. All work must be labeled with title and artist at time of delivery, if accepted.
There will be cash awards:
1st Place - $500
2nd Place - $250
3rd Place - $100
Juror - Marlene true
Marlene True is a metalsmith with a passion for working with repurposed materials. She has taught at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft, Peters Valley, and West Dean College in the UK. Marlene earned her MFA at East Carolina University and her BFA at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Marlene's work is in the permanent collections of the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, TN, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, The Racine Museum of Art in Racine Wisconsin and the Enamel Arts Foundation in Los Angeles, CA. She volunteers extensively for the Society of North American Goldmiths, where she also served on the board. Marlene is committed to craft education, and as the Executive Director of Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in Columbia, NC, she enjoys creating studio learning opportunities.
